Short answer: no. Gambling, including online sports betting, is prohibited for Nepali residents. This page explains the law as it stands and why betting sites are blocked — so you can make an informed decision.
What the law says
Gambling in Nepal is governed by the Gambling Act, 2020 BS (1963 AD), together with the Muluki Criminal Code. Organising or taking part in gambling is an offence. The licensed casinos that operate in the country are open to foreign passport holders only; Nepali citizens are not allowed to play in them.
There is no licence that allows any company to offer online sports betting to people in Nepal. Offshore betting sites that accept Nepali players do so without a Nepali licence.
Why betting sites are blocked
Since March 2026 the authorities have instructed internet service providers to block betting and gambling domains. Thousands of sites and apps have been blocked at provider level. Operators respond by moving to new addresses ("mirrors"), but a different address does not change the legal position.
Risks for players
- Legal risk — taking part in gambling is an offence for residents, whatever site you use.
- No consumer protection — disputes with an offshore operator cannot be taken to a Nepali regulator or court.
- Fake sites — copies of real betting sites are used to steal logins and deposits. Never enter a password on an address you cannot verify.
- Payments — transfers to betting sites through wallets or banks can be blocked or questioned.
Why this site publishes odds
Odds are the clearest public signal of how likely a result is, and they are widely used by fans, journalists and fantasy players to read a match. We publish them, with probabilities and results, as information. Nothing here is an instruction to bet. If you choose to bet anyway, read our responsible gambling page first.
