How We Make Predictions

Our predictions are a transparent reading of the betting market — not a hunch and not a guarantee. Here is exactly how they are made.

1. The data

Fixtures, odds, results, tables and statistics come from a commercial sports data feed that includes bookmaker prices. We rebuild the site four times a day, at 9:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00 Nepal time. Between updates, matches that have started are marked as started and their odds are greyed out.

2. From odds to probability

For each match we take the bookmaker's main result prices and convert each one to an implied probability (1 ÷ odds). Those add up to more than 100% because of the bookmaker's margin, so we scale them back proportionally until they total exactly 100%. That is the probability shown on every match card.

Example: prices of 2.00 and 1.79 imply 50.0% and 55.9% — 105.9% in total. With the margin removed, that becomes 47% and 53%.

3. Favourites, "match of the day" and picks

  • Favourite — the outcome with the highest probability after the margin is removed.
  • Match of the day — chosen by a fixed priority: Nepal matches and our featured competitions first, then the most important internationals and leagues, then the bookmaker's own popularity order.
  • Market pulse — strongest favourite, closest contest, biggest underdog price and the highest total line among the day's significant matches.

4. Automated previews

The short previews on our match pages are generated automatically from the data: start time, odds, implied probabilities, recent form, head-to-head record and the main total line. They are labelled as automated. Their wording and rules are set and reviewed by Anid Adhikari; they are not hand-written for each match.

5. What our numbers cannot tell you

Implied probabilities show what the market expects. They do not account for late team news after our last update, weather on the day or the toss. Favourites lose regularly. Nothing on this site is financial advice or a guaranteed tip.

6. Mistakes
